Volunteering with our organization means becoming a vital part of a compassionate and dedicated community committed to supporting survivors. Our volunteers are the heart of our mission—offering empathy, stability, and hope to those navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Whether providing crisis support, assisting with community outreach, or helping behind the scenes, each role makes a meaningful impact. With trauma-informed training and ongoing support, our volunteers become trusted allies in the healing process. If you believe in the power of kindness, advocacy, and change, we invite you to join us in creating a safer, more empowered future for all.
Volunteers
Volunteers are an essential part of the efforts of Haven House.

Have you ever considered becoming a source of support for someone going through a difficult time? Our crisis line is always looking for compassionate, open-hearted individuals to join our team of volunteers. It’s a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference simply by listening and being present. With training and guidance provided, you don’t need to be an expert—just someone who cares. Volunteering for the crisis line can be a deeply rewarding way to support your community and connect with others in a truly impactful way.

By volunteering in our office, you’ll help ensure our daily operations run smoothly—all contributing to meaningful outcomes for those we serve. Whether you’re a student seeking experience, a retiree eager to give back, or someone with a few hours to spare each week, your time and talents can make a significant impact. No prior experience is necessary—we provide all the training and support you need. Take the first step toward making a difference

One powerful way to support our mission is by starting a donation drive. Whether it’s collecting essential items, raising funds, or gathering resources for those in need, drives help amplify the work we do and bring people together for a shared purpose. We’re always excited to welcome individuals, schools, workplaces, and community groups who want to take the lead and make a difference. If you’re passionate about helping others, we’d love to support you in organizing a drive that can truly change lives.

Join our community of changemakers by initiating a volunteer project that aligns with your passions and skills. Whether you’re interested in organizing a support group or creating updates to our facilities, your initiative leadership can drive real change. By taking the lead, you’ll not only address pressing needs but also inspire others to contribute. Start your journey today and transform your ideas into action—because every great movement begins with a single step.
Volunteering is not limited to these four main points. If you have any ideas, please do not hesitate to reach out!
Volunteers in the office and on the crisis line undergo extensive training, which covers the topics of domestic violence and sexual assault. This training will better equip you to serve as a Haven House volunteer, and is 50 hours long.
Student Volunteer Note: If you only need 10 hours for a class, please note you will have to go through an interview process and the 50 hours of training. Training will be on your own time before you come in. This does not promise you will work with clients.
